Study on deformation prediction of the tunnel surrounding rocks based on non-equal time-interval grey model Pengfei Geng1,a , Changmin Yang2,b,Weidong Guo2,c, Peng Wang3,d 1,2College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Hebei University, Baoding 071000, Hebei, China; 3Hebei construction group co., LTD aliuyefeifei001@163.com,bchangmyang@163.com,chbugwd_2008@126.com,d8121693@qq.com Key words: grey system; GM (1, 1);deformation; non-equal time-interval Abstract: The thesis develops an non-equal time-interval GM (1, 1) model to forecast the deformation of the tunnel surrounding rock.
The numerical results indicate that the non-equal time-interval GM (1, 1) model does well in predicting the deformation of tunnel surrounding rock and is worthy to put into use in tunnel engineering.
Introduction As is well known, it is difficult to measure or forecast the deformation in tunnel engineering due to unknown of rock formation condition, rock attitude, different geologic progress.
Engineering practice The model developed above was used to predict the convergence of the surrounding rock in Linli tunnel, Zhangzhuo expressway engineering.
The engineering example confirmed that the non-equal time-interval GM (1,1) model shows a good performance in short time distance.

Introduction In the modern architectural engineering, pile foundation with its high bearing capacity and low settlement is increasingly widely applied, especially in soft soil area.
Therefore, actual engineering massively meet the problem how to achieve economic and reasonable design of the pile foundation.
How to properly reflect horizontal vibration characteristics of the single pile in engineering design is notable [1-3].

Evaluation of these torsion induced stresses is not a routine job for practicing engineers as one of major difficulties arises from the determination of sectional warping constant (Cw).
As a matter of fact, a simple and very reliable approach for evaluating Cw values would be very useful for practicing engineers in dealing with torsional problems.
The illustrative example should help practicing engineers in calculating Cw for sections that are not available in the 2002 AISI design manuals. 2.
The proposed computational procedure and formulas can be very useful for engineers in dealing with the Cw calculation of equal leg angle with lips that cannot be found in the design manuals.
