Introduction Characterized by abundant and well-developed pore structure, strong adsorption and desorption capacity, and easy regeneration, activated carbon fiber (ACF) has been widely applied to environmental protection, medical service, food areas and so on, as well as getting more and more wide concern currently[1].
The reason may be that the spinning solution reacts more fully with the increase of synthetic agent volume, so does the initial fiber with relatively good net structure and compact structure of produced precursor fiber [9].
When the hydrochloric acid concentration exceeds a certain degree, reaction occurs on the surface of initial fiber at early stage of solidification, and then relatively compact solidified layer is produced to prevent carbocation from entering into initial fiber, and cause precursor fiber to form skin-core structure, with loose structure of fiber core.
So it is easy to form hollow structure after activation.
