Typically, SiC filaments appear mainly at grain boundaries.
The Raman peak from the silicon core (Fig. 3b spec. 1) is shifted to lower wave numbers, whereas that of the Si material in the vicinity of the rod is shifted to larger wave numbers (Fig. 3b spec. 3) in comparison to the reference (Fig. 3b spec. 2).
The number of nitrogen atoms in a rod with such size is about 4x10 15 cm -3.
Thus in many cases grain boundaries at the position of the inclusion should be observed.
However, such "grain boundary-inclusion"-correlation have not been reported and we also did not detect any.

Microstructures of rheocast cylindrical shape products were granular at the die temperatures lower than 773K and changed to grained one as like recrystallized at higher than 973K.
Therefore, it was concluded that the most favorable condition of rotational speeds for making the silent slurries was 150rpm because of no clear differences in sizes and morphologies of grain structures in the every specimens treated by the rotor process with rotational speeds higher than 150rpm.
In this method, the low- superheat melt is forcedly pushed out through a water-cooled SUS304 pipe or a drilled hole in a water-cooled copper block, where numerous numbers of solidification nuclei generate along the inside plane of pipe or the drilled plane, and these crystals grow up to the granular shape due to the low super-cooling.
The melt flow due to rotations of a rotor uniformly generates enormous numbers of solidification nuclei at the surfaces of both the circumscribed chill block and the rotor.
At the same time, the slurry containing numerous numbers of small crystals was continuously discharged from the outlet of the gap.

In Indonesia, a number of race people have their original architectural culture of traditional timber houses.
There are difference in numbers and dimensions of roof frame in each general house.
A total of three specimens were made from each wood, compressed partially in the direction perpendicular to the grain.
The lateral compressive strength is approximately 1/4 times lower than compressive strength in grain direction.
Most of all test specimens were crushed in the grain direction.

The obtained films were irradiated by continuous red laser (700 nm) with power (>1000mW) for different laser irradiation time using the different number of times a laser scan (0, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 times) with a total irradiation time (0,30,45,60,75,90 min) respectively at room temperature.
The result was that the structural properties of Mawsonite Cu6Fe2SnS8 thin films affected by laser irradiation, where the XRD measurement the result was the grain size and stress values that decrease with increasing irradiation time, whereas the values of intensity, FWHM, and d-spacing for the largest peak increase with a slight increase with the increase in the irradiation time and a slight increase in growth of some peaks with increasing irradiation time.
Nanomaterial strategy guarantees possessed nucleation and development of grain.
The following table (3) shows the effect of violet laser irradiation on the grain size (D) and stress(ε') values that decrease with increasing irradiation time calculated using the following equations [20][21]: D= 0.94 λβ cosθ (1) β: FWHM (radian), and ε'= β cosθ4 (2) whereas the values of intensity, FWHM, and d- spacing for the largest peak at an angle 2ϴ=28.6451increase with a slight increase with the increase in the irradiation time, this result is the agreement with [22].
Table 3: The laser irradiation effect on grain size, stress, FWHM, and d-spacing Sample code 2ϴ(deg) Intensity FWHM D(nm) Stress d-spacing X0 28.9435 1612 0.9840 83.416 3.7588 3.08495 X1 28.9435 1619 0.9876 83.111 3.7451 3.08513 X2 28.9435 1624 0.9897 82.937 3.7373 3.08525 X3 28.9435 1629 0.9912 82.804 3.7316 3.08538 X4 28.9435 1634 0.9937 82.601 3.7222 3.08550 X5 28.9435 1639 0.9963 82.389 2.7125 3.08562 It is noticed from figure (4) that there is a slight increase in the growth of some peaks with increasing irradiation time.

The grain size reduces due to hydrogenation and this is attributed to the more hysteretic magnetization curve.
The Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2-Hy as cast bulk sample has smaller grain size than the Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2 since after hydrogenation a number of cracks divide the grains in smaller parts.
A more hysteretic hysteresis curve, as shown in Fig. 3 (right), is associated to the formation of the microstructure with smaller grains than the hydrogen free sample. 0 50 100 150 200 250 300 0.980 0.985 0.990 0.995 1.000 µoHext=0.03 T (300 Oe) T=27.6 K Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2 as-made Normalized magnetic moment Temperature T (K) ZFC FC 0.0 0.6 1.2 46 48 50 52 54 Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2 Mass Magnetization (Am2/kg) Applied Field µ0Hapl (T) without hydrogen with hydrogen Fig. 3 ZFC and FC in the range of 4.2 K to room temperature of the as made sample Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2. 0 50 100 150 200 250 300 0 10 20 Tc=275 o C Tc=254 o C Tc=130 o C Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2 as-made Zr(Fe0.8Cu0.2)2 as-made Magnetization @ 0.03T (Am 2 /kg) Temperature ( o C) 0 50 100 150 200 250 300 0 10 AB2 Tc=255 o C AB2 Tc=124 oC Zr(Fe0.8Co0.1Cu0.1)2-Hy Magnetization @ 0.03T (Am 2 /kg) Temperature ( o C) Fig. 4 Thermomagnetic

Results and discussion A film that is attached to a substrate and subjected to a tensile stress may fail in a number of ways.
A number of cracks may propagate when the stress reaches this critical value.
The occurrence of these serrations may be associated with crack propagation and the Ni3Ti grain precipitation [12].
An analytical expression for the case has been indicated that the amount of stress-induced Ni3Ti phase increases and the little crack propagates along the boundary of precipitate grain.

Introduction A great number of studies on the synthesis of hydroxyapatite and its application have been reported for development of replacement material, such as hydroxyapatite and calcium phosphate, as an implant [1-3].
The grain growth of ACP resulted in large elongated ACP particles with 20 to 30 nm in diameter and 50 to 100 nm in length after heat treatment at 673 K.
From detailed EXAFS analysis, the result of curve fitting of the EXAFS spectrum for as-synthesized ACP showed that the coordination number of Ca ion was about 4 and Ca-O distance was 0.243nm.
