Abstract.
The research result can provide references for engineering application of AE technique to locate the damage source and analyse the failure feature.

The mean spacing of rock fracture can be directly used for rock mass classification in GSI rock systems, and has a great significance in rock engineering studies.
Introduction In the study of stability in geotechnical engineering, the study of engineering rock mechanics parameters is one of the key issues[1],the rock mass engineering support, stability evaluation and numerical simulation all need a selection of mechanical parameters on rock mass strength, and the choice of parameters plays a vital role which result the accuracy of the calculated[2].
Through the quantitative surrounding rock grading system, it can reduce the reliance on engineering experience and very convenient[4].
