Aspect ratio of crack is one of key factors of fatigue strength prediction in engineering design and civil structures using fracture mechanics.
Introduction While it is very important to detect crack size and shape in civil engineering, it is hard to measure their precise shapes and/or mechanical factors.

Concrete as the one of the most used material in civil engineering has also a very high negative environmental impact.
Concrete is more and more favourite material for external façade and so on, but its reduction in civil infrastructure is more than necessary.

Nowadays embedded parts which connect steel members with concrete structures have frequently emerged in civil engineering; however the existing design code for embedded parts cannot satisfy the increasing demand of engineering as it was derived from limited experiments.
Introduction Cast-in-place embedded parts are frequently employed in civil engineering construction to support pipelines, equipments, machines, etc., from reinforced concrete members [1].

Steel structure building market demand and applied talents on teaching reform for the course of steel structure CHU YunPeng, YAOYong, ZHOU LiLi College of civil engineering, southwest university of technology.
Countermeasures of steel structure teaching reform Teaching material reform In order to adapt to realize the personnel training goal under new situation , education and guidance of civil engineering major committee adopted the suggestions of “Research and practice of the talent training scheme and teaching content system reform face civil engineering major in the 21st century” task group belongs to ministry of education, put the “steel structure” course in two parts“principle”and“design”, “steel structure principle” is professional basic course of construction engineering direction in civil engineering and “steel structure design” is specialty required courses.
Teaching content reform As a major professional course of a civil engineering undergraduate, steel structure course should make some adjustment in order to adapt to the needs of the market.
This is because many of the civil engineering did not open the system stability theory course to undergraduates.
Conclusions With China’s steel structure building form and the number increased, steel structure in civil engineering raises importance of steel structure subject development and updates quickly, the new form of market demand the steel structure of the classroom teaching put forward more and more high demand.

Pathological manifestations are a primary concern in civil construction, as they can compromise the safety and functionality of structures.
Despite its advantages, a gap persisted in the application of Kevlar to simultaneously enhance mechanical performance and mitigate pathologies in civil construction.
These findings confirm the potential of Kevlar as a high-performance material for sustainable and reliable civil construction applications.
