PREFACE Dear Distinguished Delegates and Guests, The Organizing Committee warmly welcomes our distinguished delegates and guests to 2012 2nd International Conference on Key Engineering Materials (ICKEM 2012) held during February 26-28, 2012 in Singapore.
The conferences together report the results of research efforts in a broad range of Key Engineering Materials.
The main conference themes and tracks are Key Engineering Materials.
The main goal of these events is to provide international scientific forums for exchange of new ideas in a number of fields that interact in-depth through discussions with their peers from around the world.

Electrical Properties of Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (MOS) Structures on 4H-SiC(0001) Formed by Oxidizing Pre-deposited SixNy Jeong Hyun Moon1, Dong Hwan Kim 2, Ho Keun Song1, Jeong Hyuk Yim 1, Wook Bahng 3, Nam-Kyun Kim 3, Kwang-Seok Seo2 and Hyeong Joon Kim 1 1 School of Materials Science and Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, 151-742, Korea 2 School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Seoul National University, Seoul 151-742, Korea 3 Power Semiconductor Research Group, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), P.O.
We have fabricated advanced metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) capacitors with ultra thin (5 nm) remote-PECVD SixNy dielectric layers and investigated electrical properties of nitrided SiO2/4H-SiC interface after oxidizing the SixNy in dry oxygen at 1150 ℃ for 30, 60, 90 min.
In this paper, we have fabricated advanced 4H-SiC metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) capacitors with thermal-nitrided SiO2 by oxidizing the pre-deposited ultra thin (5 nm) remote-Plasma Enhanced CVD (PECVD) SixNy dielectric layers and compared the electrical properties of the thermal-nitrided SiO2 with normal dry SiO2 structures.
Summary In summary, we have fabricated advanced metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) capacitors with ultra thin (5 nm) remote-PECVD SixNy dielectric layers and investigated the electrical properties of thermal-nitrided SiO2/4H-SiC interface.

Selected examples of direct cooled forging steels, microalloyed carburizing steels, and advanced high strength sheet (AHSS) steels are discussed.
The class of so-called advanced high-strength sheet steels (AHSS) has arisen, as a consequence of these efforts, to include martensitic, dual-phase, TRIP, and complex-phase microstructures.

The oldest research paper information is of the keynote lecture in the 1 st FGM workshop published in 1988 when FGM forum JAPAN was established in Sendai city. 20 years has past since then, and the Forum is having its 20 th anniversary and coincidentally, FGM International Symposium is having the commemorable 10th year.
This study field will be further advanced.
FGM research has been progressing from fundamental ones to advanced researches and practical applications in 20 years.
It is important to share those research achievements and data having been produced by pioneers of the FGM field with young students and engineers who will possibly play a role in development of new materials or cut into new fields.
