The structures of diarylethene 1o were confirmed by NMR. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3, TMS): δ 2.02 (s, 3H, -CH3), 3.24 (s, 3H, -OCH3), 6.74 (d, 1H, J = 8.0 Hz, phenyl-H), 6.96 (t, 1H, J = 8.0 Hz, phenyl-H), 7.20-7.25 (m, 2H, phenyl-H), 7.29-7.37 (m, 3H, phenyl-H), 7.51 (d, 1H, phenyl-H).
