Less than ideal protection is achieved when faster processes are rate limiting; e.g. grain boundary diffusion, liquid phase diffusion or gas phase diffusion.
The corresponding diffusion coefficients cover an enormous range: typical values at temperatures from about 600 to 1200ºC would be 10 -7 to 10 -17 cm 2/sec for lattice diffusion in an oxide (see Fig. 1), 10 -7 to 10 -11 cm2/sec for grain boundary diffusion, 10 -4 to 10 -6 cm2/sec for liquid phase diffusion, and 10 0 to 10 +1 cm 2/sec for gas phase diffusion.
The excess +1 charge relative to the host lattice from a Me 3+ cation occupying a normal M 2+ cation site may be compensated in a variety of ways, including the annihilation of vacancies equal in number to ½ the number of Me 3+.
Using the chemical potentials of M and O, equation 12 can be written: 0eliont O ion t t eZ1 I µ∇σ= (14) where σel, tion and tel are the total conductivity, ionic and electronic transport numbers, respectively.
Wagnerian Model Deviations Because a number of halides exhibit predominant ionic conduction [39], the phenomenon of local cell action can contribute to the consumption of a metal by halide scale formation.

In the first case, the increase in mechanical characteristics is due to a decrease in the length of dislocation pile-ups with decreasing grain size of polycrystals and can be described by the Hall-Petch relation.
The samples for the study were in a coarse-grained state.
Therefore, in order to obtain reliable results, one cannot limit oneself to a small number of indentations for determining microhardness.

The deformation of two-phase alloys (x = 0.5-0.85) has a number of features that are manifested in the appearance of fairly large intervals of athermal deformation on the temperature dependences of microhardness. 4.

For the fifth cumulative contribution rate has reached 87.29% which has exceeded 85%, so we can estimate the number of principal component is 5, and compute their coefficient factors as formula (5).
Like formula (6) below, while iF is the new feature set, iw is the contribution rate corresponding to iF . ∑== 31I ii F*wF (6) After calculation, we can sort these features by importance: plant height, ear height, output, ear diameter, ear length, seed rows per ear, seed number per row, thousand grain weight and period.

Introduction The characteristics of modern construction including increase of the number of stories of buildings and length of escape routes impose exclusive standards on fire safety [9, 10] of construction materials used.
The spherical shape of perlite grains provides for higher fluidity of mortar mixtures compared to the vermiculite containing ones.
At the same time, the advantage of vermiculite is its grain elasticity and higher vibration resistance that provides crack strength of water mortars with its application.

Increased metal penetration occurs with increased grain size or poor ramming of the sand. 2.
In AFS sieve analysis size and distribution of sand grains in sand is determined.
In sieve analysis AFS No = Total product/total percentage of sample i.e. 5331/100 = 53.31, Hence AFS number of sand is 53.31.
AFS grain fineness number is number of average grain size and convenient means of describing relative fineness of sand [12].
The molding sand of AFS number 50-60 was recommended to achieve better results.

When the cooling rate is 1 ℃/s, the grain size of ferrite matrix decreases and the number of pearlite decreases.
When the cooling rate is 1 ℃/s, the number of pearlite increases and granular bainite begins to appear.
When the cooling rate is 2 ℃/s, the number of granular bainite increases and lath bainite begins to appear.
When the cooling rate is 5 ℃/s, the grain size decreases, and the microstructure is mainly composed of pre eutectoid ferrite, a few pearlite and bainite, and martensite appears.
When the cooling rate is 10 ℃/s, the number of bainite increases.

To embody the generality of study, the test used the materials of three batch numbers (No. 1, No.2 and No.3) of the same grade, and their original mechanical properties and those after hot forming were compared.
Fig. 1(c) is the microstructure of the inner layer of hot-formed 22MnB5 steel, which is composed of uniform lath martensite grains.
Martensite shearing property causes high density dislocation in crystal grains, thus greatly increasing the strength of hot formed 22MnB5 steel.
When the Biot number of the steel plate is Bi<0.1(Bi=hδ/λ), the internal temperature difference of the steel plate may be basically ignored [17].
