However, Al-Si alloys are the most common alloys and commercially available ones due to their economical production.
This project aimed to synthesize Al alloys (LM-6, LM-25 and LM-30) by melt stirring method with varying amount of grain refiners and / or modifier.
Recently, much attention has been given to unmodified cast alloys, especially to hypereutectic Al–Si alloys.

Newly developed Ti alloys, such as β type Ti alloys, have been introduced as a candidate to meet the requirement.
Choosing a suitable biocompatible alloying element is the first and critical consideration on designing β type Ti alloys.
The aim of this study was to investigate the bacterial adhesion tendency to the titanium alloying elements (i.e. tin, niobium and tantalum).
Microid diamond compounds of 15, 9, 6, 1 µm were used respectively for fine polishing.

Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of laser deposited high entropy alloys.
Aluminum has the greatest tendency to form ordered compounds with each of the alloying elements which can be seen from the enthalpy of mixing values of the individual binary systems, Al–Ni, Al–Co, Al–Fe and Al–Cr are −30 kJ mol−1, −24 kJ mol−1, −10 kJ mol−1 and −6kJmol−1 respectively.

In general,
castability of magnesium alloys is comparable to aluminum alloys.
The AZ91D alloy is one of the most popular magnesium casting alloys.
Microscopic examination of folds in the AE42 castings revealed a band of intermetallic compounds on either side of the fold, as seen in Figure 2b. 2 cm (a) Subsurface folds (Bright Field, 50x).
Close examination of the band of intermetallic compounds decorating the fold boundary revealed the presence of fine particles (Figure 3b).
(a) Fragmented Al2RE (Bright Field, 200x) (b) AlxREy intermetallic compounds (c) Flaxes of MgO within folded region.

The aim of this paper is developing of an original Ti-based alloy improved with non-toxic elements, characterized from point of view of microstructures and mechanical properties: micro-indentation and hardness tests.
Crystalite size of compounds (nm) αʹʹ β TiMoZrTa 25,203 19,494 Ti-based alloys display a variety of properties which depends to chemical composition.
Researches found that β phase of Ti alloys generally have a lower modulus that is for α or α/β type alloys.

Therefore, nonwovens, compounds, sheet moulding compounds (SMC), bulk moulding compounds (BMC), and also standard lightweight materials like high-alloy steels, aluminium and magnesium are taken into account.
It is shown that rCF can substitute glass fibre reinforced products and are also comparable to some metals and alloys.

However, too much Fe is detrimental to the properties of the Al-Si alloys which are added into these alloys.
The present work aimed to squeeze casting semi-solid Al-22Si-2Fe-1.4Mn alloy to produce a tube with gradient structure in radial direction (RD).
The energy spectrum results for Fe-rich phases show that the compositions of the polygonal blocky compounds are Al12.63(Fe, Mn)3Si2.33.
