Historic Retrospection and Present status of Severe Plastic Deformation in China Jing Tao Wang School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology Nanjing 210094, P.R.
SPD is becoming a hotspot in materials field in China.
Introduction It is well recognized that the interrelationship among the four components of composition, processing, structure and property, composed the nucleus of the discipline of materials science and engineering.
Recently, however, world wide great progress and achievement in research and development concerning severe plastic deformation and related materials, claims the dominant role of high strain in the control of materials microstructure, and attracts ever-increasing sight of the materials experts world wide [1].

Study on the Abrasive Effecting Factors of the Removal Rate during Dual-Lapping Sapphire Wafer ZHANG Kehua1, 2, a , WEN Donghui 1, b , and YUAN Julong 1, c 1 The MOE Key Laboratory of Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, 310032, China 2 Institute of Machinery Equipment and Measurement & Control Technology, Zhejiang Normal University, JinHua, 321004, China a mature@126.com, bwdh_74@163.com, cjlyuan@zjut.edu.cn Keywords: Sapphire Wafer, Dual-Lapping, Materials Removal Ratio, Surface uniformity Abstract: Dual-lapping was a process to planarize the surface of the sapphire wafer, the nature of surface&subsurface damage and the surface uniformity was depended on the material removal mode and materials removal ratio.
Material removal mode was studied in this paper, and the model of material removal was set up too.
This research provided valuable insights into the material removal ratio and the dependence of lapping-induced damage on dual-lapping conditions, the asymmetry of abrasive granularity brought on the different materials removal mode and the surface asymmetry.

Optical differentiation method of materials based on the modeling of scattering characteristics Shixue Xu1, a, Lingfei Xu2,b, Yanru Chen3,c 1,2,3Department of Optical Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, P.R.China 210094 aete_corner@yahoo.com.cn, bjsj900@hotmail.com, cyrchen2002@yahoo.com.cn Keywords: Scattering, material differentiation, modeling Abstract.
We also try to modeling the characteristics of materials scattered light in order to recognize or distinguish given materials in detection.
The reflectivity of materials determines the intensity of scattered light.
Our research indicates that the optical differentiation of materials method will have more feasibility if we take more information from the scattered light of materials’ surfaces.
