Abstract: This work introduces the workings of reverse engineering, its characteristics and application methods and proposes a data acquisition system applicable to industrial design, namely, three dimensional sensing system (3DSS).
In a broad sense, RE includes the reverse engineering in various fields including shapes (geometries), processing techniques and materials.
RE Methods In reverse engineering, physical parts or prototypes are transformed into engineering concepts and digital models.
In the RE process, professional knowledge in various fields such as modern design, production engineering and materials science is required to discover the key technologies used on objects.

The radiator fan blades are made up of various materials nowadays and the legacy material used is steel.
The analysis of the radiator fan is executed to different types of materials to check and evaluate the material and process conditions which withstand the dynamic and structural loads.
In the paper design of the blade is done through reverse engineering.
They also present the reconstruction algorithm and explain this range image-based, computer-aided reverse engineering system has potential for faster model reconstruction over traditional reverse engineering technologies.
