Air Preheater Performance Analysis: Installation of Soft Seal Material to Improve Air Preheater Leakage
Franz-Josef A.
Because bigger stiffness will produce larger friction force and additional energy is needed to overcome the friction [7], soft seal materials made of Corten steel were considered for all the seals so that right sealing was possible without significantly affecting the drive motor current.
These flexible soft touch seals are thin layers of special seal materials placed in an overlapping arrangement.

Through a comparative analysis of various materials’ critical failure velocities, the optional materials for impact resistant can be got.
In such a situation, it can be inferred out that some kinds of plastic materials such as special engineering plastics have better impact resistant performance than metal materials.
