Abstract.
Although a proper monitoring system is installed to monitoring damages in PSC girder bridges, however, the following problems still remain to be solved: costs associated with installation and upkeep of wired monitoring systems can be high; and data repositories with high capacity is needed for future engineering analysis.
Generally, acceleration response of civil structures is very small.

Abstract.
Even though water retting is desirable since it produces homogeneous, high quality fibres [8, 9], the extensive retting time associated with this technique is a serious concern among scientists and engineers.
Acknowledgements The authors greatly acknowledge the ongoing support given by the administrative and technical staff Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
