Modern science has extended the use of curcumin to the pharmaceutical industry as a therapeutically active ingredient.
Compared to the conventional methods, SCF technology provides higher compatibility for thermo-labile materials such as pharmaceutical and foods.
The use as solute or as solvent exploits the compatibility of the SCF with the processed materials to generate homogenous mixtures, followed by expansion through nozzle to initiate particle formation.

The feed material selected for study is sweet lime peel.
Experimental 2.1 Raw material.
Waste sweet lime peels were collected after juice extraction as the raw material for production of sweet lime essential oil.
The yield of essential oil was calculated for each run by using the equation [10, 11] Yield of essential oil (%) = (amount of essential oil (g) obtained)/ (amount of raw materials (g) used) x100 The essential oil samples were analyzed for their purity by using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) [12].
