Introduction Metals and alloys used for implants are exposed to synergistic influence of corrosive environment of human organism and mechanical factors.
The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the modified artificial plasma solutions on corrosion resistance of Ti6Al4V ELI alloy subjected to anodic oxidation and steam sterilization.
The use of these compounds allows for more accurate analysis of biomaterials degradation process.
For the R-SBF solution, the presence of calcium phosphate compounds positively influence long-term results.

Consequently, scientific research on hail impact events, whether occurring during flight or while the aircraft is on the ground, has primarily focused on high-performance metal alloys, unidirectional laminates, and sandwich structures from a materials science perspective [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6].
A interesting type of material class used in aforementioned applications, are sheet molding compounds (SMCs).
As indicated by the name, sheet molding compounds are provided in the form of sheets.
The latter resulted in only small, localized damage regions and underestimates the detrimental effects of a hail impact loading situation on sheet molding compounds.

However, a serious limitation for the application of the magnesium alloys is their susceptibility to corrosion.
When exposed to the ambient atmosphere, these alloys naturally develop a surface film of oxides and/or hydroxides.
Therefore, in view of the scarcity of ellipsometric data for AZ31 alloy, this work aimed to establish an efficient methodology to access the optical characteristics of the AZ31 alloy (substrate) and to construct an efficient model to determine the thickness of oxides/hydroxides films grown on this material.
