The International Civil Engineering Conference (ICEC) is a series of meetings organized by the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) and NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan.
The ICEC 2024 theme was "Advancing Civil Engineering: Innovation for Achieving UN Sustainable Goals" to underscore the pivotal role that civil engineering plays in realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Advancing civil engineering is not just about building structures, it is rather about creating a sustainable future.
It is the premier national body of engineers working for the advancement of engineering profession.
IEP is also a member of six international/regional engineering bodies and has the honour to represent Pakistan at these forums.

However, due to their large brittleness, bad uniformity, low reliability, less malleability and intensity, etc. the application for components of advanced engineering ceramic has been impeded by damage introduced during finishing process.
Therefore, ultrasonic machining is used as an important and effective supplementary method for finishing advanced ceramics.
