Domşa, then by other Department members in Cluj, as well as from Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Galati, Craiova, including within certain co-specializations (metallurgy, metal studies, physics metallurgy, metals' technology, materials' science).
The setting up, at the Technical University in Cluj-Napoca, of the first department of specialization in the materials science in Romania and of the first Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering (1990) brought new premises for research and intern and international cooperation in the domain of powders metallurgy.
Some of them: sintered magnetic materials, contact materials, heavy alloys for high voltage switches, carbonated materials (electrographitic metal-graphite, bakelite - graphite, hard carbon), and ceramics.
The Department main interests were in Powder Metallurgy and Metallic Materials.
