Thus, after the great performance of fly ash and GGBS as supplementary cementitious materials is identified and recognized by the construction industry, it is not surprising that there has been a lot of interest in the development of less energy intensive and more ecological mineral materials in massive replacement of cement clinker, such as artificially-made materials, industrial byproducts or natural materials.

Usually there is a sliding between the contact surfaces of the connector, while the changes in temperature and humidity environment would affect the resistance of the connector contact materials.
This paper studies the complicated effects of environment and sliding on the dynamic resistance of the contacts materials of Pd-Ni plated.
Experimental Materials and Methods There are two kinds of contact pair in this paper: one is Au probe(the thickness of gold coating is 0.5μm ) - PdNi sample, the other is Ni probe(the base metal is Cu) –PdNi sample.

Oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) is one of the lignocellulosic materials which are an abundant waste at palm oil mills and need to be utilized.
Formerly, the surface modification of cellulose or NCC with silane coupling agents was used in composite materials application.
The proposed chemical structure for aminosilane modification can be referred to Mohd et al. [13] Materials and Method Samples preparation.

Problem Statement The construction industry consume a substantial amount of raw materials in the process.
The two major concerns on recycling are the economic viability and acceptability of recycled materials.
Typically, Tam and Tam (2005) found that from a purely economic point of view, recycled materials are only attractive when they are competitive with virgin materials in terms of cost and quality.
Interestingly, in contrast to a common sense, the cost of virgin material is actually cheaper than that of recycled materials (Tam and Tam, 2005).
Besides, the general public often worries about the quality of reused or recycled materials.

Introduction Theoretically, all materials are heterogeneous at a sufficiently fine scale.
In a classical local continuum approach many materials can be treated as homogeneous continua through separation of the scale of the problem under consideration and the lower scales of heterogeneities affecting physical processes.
The research has been carried out within the projects “Multiscale Numerical Modeling of Material Deformation Responses from Macro- to Nanolevel” (Croatian Science Foundation, 2516); “Multiscale Modeling of Heterogeneous Structures” (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany) and “Centre of Excellence for Structural Health” (EU IPA2007/HR/16IPO/001-040513).
