As Ca addition is increased, Mg17Al12 phases are gradually replaced by
newly formed Ca-containing phases and the melting temperature of the Mg17Al12 phase tends to
increase, resulting in the reduction of solidification range.
Meanwhile, the Mg-Al-Ca-Sr phases cannot identified due to lack of the related data, however it is postulated to be Al2(Ca, Sr)- type phase.
