Experiment and Numerical Study on Shear Capacity of RC Beams Jun Liu1,a, Fengpeng Zhang 2 ,b, Yinbo Zuo 1,c 1School of Sciences, Northeastern University, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China 2College of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China awangqiuzi815@sina.com, bzhangfengpeng@126.com, czuoyinbo@126.com Keywords: Concrete; Cyclic loading; Shear capacity; Diagonal crack width.
Experimental result shows that the decline of the shear strength of the RC beams due to cyclic loading can be characterized by the width of diagonal crack, according to the experimental phenomena, a formula for shear capacity after cyclic loading is derived for engineering use.
The remaining shear capacity of RC beam can be estimated by measuring diagonal crack width, so the method is suitable for engineering application.

In addition, according to the experimental phenomena and the shear compression failure mechanism of beam, a formula for shear capacity after cyclic loading is derived for engineering use.
The remaining shear capacity of RC beam can be estimated by measuring diagonal crack width, so the method is suitable for engineering application.

Calculation of different stages reinforced concrete beam bending stiffness Xiao-Yan Guo School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Baotou, China, 014010 13384858080@163.com Key words: RC beams, flexural rigidity, inertia method, all-rang-analysis Abstract: By means of inertia-moment method, formulae are derived for calculating flexural rigidity of RC beams under different loading stage, which can be used for calculating initial rigidity and rigidity in service stage.
Introduction The beam bending stiffness was calculated in the following cases in practical engineering.
Simplified beam bending stiffness calculation process to solve engineering problems is very meaningful.
The error of calculation result compare with code result ,which is less 8%, satisfying engineering practical requirement

Cross-sectional optimization of reinforced concrete columns considering both economical and environmental costs Moacir Kripka1, a, Guilherme Fleith de Medeiros2,b 1Professor, Engineering Graduate Program, University of Passo Fundo, Brazil 2Graduate Student, Engineering Graduate Program, University of Passo Fundo, Brazil amkripka@upf.br (corresponding author), bguifleith@upf.br Keywords: Optimization, Harmony Search, Life Cicle Analysis, Reinforced Concrete, Columns.
However, one of the reasons normally attributed to the little application of the optimization techniques to real structural engineering problems consists of the complexity of the mathematic model generated, normally described by non-linear behavior functions and producing a non-convex space of solutions (several points of optimum), problems for which the resolution by traditional mathematical programming methods have proved to be little efficient.
