Photochromism Properties of a New Unsymmetrical Diarylethene Bearing a Benzene Unit

The structure of diarylethene 1O was confirmed by 1H NMR. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz, TMS): δ (ppm):1.94 (s, 3H), 2.17 (s, 3H), 4.01-4.11 (m, 4H), 6.01 (s, 1H), 7.15 (s, 1H), 7.33 (s, 1H), 7.46-7.53 (m, 4H).

From the XRD studies, it is observed that the LPP and Nb doped LPP crystals retain the monoclinic structure and the calculated lattice parameter values are comparable with the reported values of LPP.
