Considering the literature and the work already developed in our research group, its presented a exploratory study to evaluate the behavior and influence of the Fe2+ ions in a medium that simulate with good approximation the chemistry potential imposed to usual bioleaching systems.
Furthermore an acid dissolution of chalcopyrite is possible to occur causing a small release of Fe2+ from the structure and the slow diffusion of these ions through the passivating layer formed in the surface [7].

Fig. 2a show two broad cathodic peak between 0.7 and 0.3 V can be attributed to the intercalation of PP13+ and PYR13+ cations into the graphite structure.
