This simulation assumes conservatively that the fire increases along the t²curve at a rapid rate and the fire increasing coefficient is 0.04689 kW/s². 3.2 Setting maximum heat release rate According to Shanghai local standard "civil building smoke technical regulation" (DGJ08-88-2000),select 20MW as fire power in one scenario and 4MW as the maximum heat in another scenario in which the Sprinklers normally respond. 3.3 Setting fire position This simulation sets the biggest fire hazard in the center of storage area where goods and shelves are closely and numerously put and there are few workers.
Table 1 Total Fire scenarios form Fire scenario Fire height Fire increasing type Maximum heat release power Sprinkler system Venting and air make-up A 12m t²curve at a rapid rate 20 MW Lose efficacy Natural fire venting and air make-up B 8m t²curve at a rapid rate 4MW Normally respond 3.5 Modeling In the comprehensive consideration of the economy and in order to meet the engineering calculation accuracy, this simulation determines the meshing method of FDS model as Fig.3 shows.
