Materials Science and Engineering Opportunities for an Energy Efficient and Low Carbon Economy Diran Apelian1, a 1 Metal Processing Institute, WPI, Worcester 01609, USA adapelian@wpi.edu Keywords: Renewable energy, Carbon economy, Lightweight materials Abstract.
The role of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) is pivotal in addressing these societal grand challenges.
These elements were classified into the four crosscutting materials science and engineering themes which were is turn supported by three foundational areas illustrated in Fig. 4.
Multi-Materials Integration in Energy Systems Every energy system requires different materials working together to deliver desired functionality.
Sustainable Manufacturing of Materials Manufacturing materials such as steel, aluminum, and cement is fundamentally energy-intensive.

Basic principles of the teaching construction At present, several sets of teaching materials, such as "principles of chemical engineering" and "chemical engineering" used in chemical engineering and other related majors all have their own characteristics.
Therefore, the revision, supplementary and update of teaching materials is very important.
Teaching materials should be closely combined with production practice and fully embody the application of new technology in the chemical industry.
The new teaching materials should consider the requirements in the chemical industry.
The comprehensive improvement of the teaching quality of chemical engineering principles course is the key of teaching reform.

Research on the Automatic Method of Reverse Engineering System in Innovation Design Dengfeng Cao School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Nanning College for Vocational Technology,Guangxi,530008,China 56792853@qq.com Keywords: Automatic method, Reverse engineering system, Innovation design, Reserve product design Abstract.
General Framework of Automatic Method of Reverse Engineering Reverse engineering, also called reverse engineering, is measured by means of some kind, or model data acquisition, reconstruct the general three-dimensional model by computer according to measurements.
For developing countries, reverse engineering is one of important ways to obtain the core technology or know-how.
Automatic Design Based on Reverse Engineering Reverse design is divided into two stages against summation redesign.
Determination of the physical properties of the material and the main mechanical performance, can ensure materials brand and heat treatment way, thus on your product design consider to choose the applicable homebred material substitution.

A new approach of the teaching of the subject Graphical Engineering is developed, focusing the contents on the use of the CAD/CAM/CAE systems as useful tools for applying engineering problems related with the mechanical engineering instead of describing diverse software options.
Concretely, the aim is to make students apply the knowledge and concepts acquired in previous key engineering matters such as Theory of Machines and Mechanisms and Strength of Materials by using today modern CAD/CAM/CAE software.
Teaching context The subject “Graphical Engineering” is included, in the second semester of the third course, in the degree in Mechanical Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Salamanca.
Taking into account the contents developed in the subject a previous knowledge is required for taking advantage of the theory of Mechanisms and Machines and Strength of Materials classes.
Conclusions A new approach for the teaching of Graphical Engineering subject is presented in this paper based on diverse practices in which our students apply the previous acquired knowledge in key engineering subjects such as Strength of Materials or Theory of Mechanism and Machines by using the free CAD/CAM/CAE software Autodesk Inventor.

Theoretical research and engineering practice of soil conditioning and the variation characteristics of key construction parameters based on TBM construction in sand-pebble layer are also very few.
At first, changing single foam to composite foam (SLF30+10%SLFP1); Secondly, adding Rheosoil143 foaming polymer and HHZ-02 dispersive agent; And finally, three materials are mixed in certain proportion and injected into the earth chamber.
So variety of improved materials will achieve multiple functions for soil conditioning in improving plastic flow of soil
