Materials database is necessary as a point of departure in choosing the indexable insert material in coherence to workpiece material, and the machines database is linked with the available toolholders.
Dimensional characteristic, materials, properties and costs are presented.
By the help of materials database, a proper structure based on material groups (P, M, ..., O) [12] will correlate each type of input material, defined by its ISO designation, with the insert material.
