The use of molecules that self-assemble on the surface of the metal, forming a self-assembled structure is among the alternatives that have been evaluated as a method of protection of metallic materials against corrosion.
It can be seen from Fig. 2B that when the zircon oxide treatment is applied on the SAM molecule, the coating of the metallic surface occurs, indicating that there is an interaction between the organic molecule and the metallic compound and, that this structure is forming a film on the sample.
