Molybdenum disulfide from the intermediate layers in which it is embedded has a growth pattern that depends on the amount in which MoS2 arrives on the growth surface of the substrate: · at a low MoS2 content amorphous phases were developed; these phases appeared segregated at the grain boundary of the hard nitrides as a tissue phase which percolated the crystalline nitride nanograins; · at a high MoS2 content crystalline phases in a nano-layered structure were developed, where the thickness of nano-layers is 0,68 nm, that is the distance between (002) basal planes of the well ordered MoS2 phase (Fig. 4); these basal planes are oriented parallel with the coating surface and this fact is very important in order to provide a very low friction.

Enhanced current flow is noticeable along the grain boundaries of WO3 nano-flake and the peak current with maximum intensity was clearly identified and its measured value was 248 pA.
This shift indicates the contribution of W5+-states from non-stoichiometric oxide phase of WO3-x in comparison with stoichiometric WO3 owing to the increased number of oxygen vacancies created during the intercalation.
