Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of TiC/Ti3AlC2 In-situ Composites Prepared by Hot Pressing Method Miaomiao Ruan a, Xiaoming Feng b, Taotao Ai c, Ning Yu, Kui Hua Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Shaanxi University of Technology, Hanzhong 723003, China amiaomiao2337@126.com, bfxmhz@126.com, caitaotao0116@126.com Keywords: Ti3AlC2, Composite, Microstructure, Mechanical properties.
In 1994, Ti3AlC2 was first synthesized by Pietzka and Schuster using Ti, TiAl, Al4C3 and carbon as the raw materials [3].
As shown in Fig. 1(a), before sintering, the material consists of Ti, Al and TiC.

Recently, in the field of Materials Science and Technology it has been found that a crystal orientation in materials can be controlled by imposition of a high magnetic field [1,2].
This principle may be applied not only to magnetic materials, but also to non-magnetic materials such as the HAp (if a high magnetic field is available).

And more importantly, this method shows great potential in applying other type of mesoporous materials such as SBA-15 etc.
As known, the hole size of the MCM-41 materials is 2-3 nm, which greatly limit the application of the MCM-41 materials.
In view of these, seeking another way to synthesize mesoporous materials with larger holes has been proposed.
And more importantly, this method shows great potential in applying other type of mesoporous materials such as SBA-15 etc, which will broaden the range of method for expanding hole size of mesoporous materials.
