Introduction
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) are the focus of intense research and development world wide for aerospace, automotive, cylinder liners, brake calipers, gears, valves and many other applications, where reduction in weight of elements should be achieved along with the improvement in high wear resistance, heat resistance and thermal stability [1−3].
