Introduction Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT)[1,2,3,4] has different meanings in different situations, and it can be broadly defined as ‘‘an automated production system of people, machines, and tools for the planning and control of the production process, including the procurement of raw materials, parts, and components, and the shipment and service of finished products”[5].
More specifically, AMT can be described as a group of computer-based technologies, including computer-aided design, robotics, group technology, flexible manufacturing systems, automated materials handling systems, computer numerically controlled machine tools, and bar-coding or other automated identification techniques[6,7,8].
In additional, in order to insure the security of design result, bigger assurance coefficient is used in the design process, which can induce serious waste of material.
