Experimental Study on Impact of Production Process Parameters on Rubber Asphalt Performance Wei HOU1,a 1Senior Engineer, School of Civil Engineering & Architecture, Chongqing Jiaotong University, 66 Xuefu Avenue, Chongqing 400074, China aemail: likejohn@qq.com Key words: Rubber asphalt; Mixing method; Mixing temperature; Mixing time; Rubber powder content Abstract: In order to better master the production process and the road performance of rubber asphalt, the paper studied the influence law of mixing method, mixing temperature, mixing time and rubber powder content on the performance of rubber asphalt.
Therefore, it can be seen that in the rubber asphalt production process, each step may affect the rubber asphalt performance and rubber asphalt in China still can not be widely used in entitative engineering as other modified asphalt such as SBS modified bitumen [5].
In this paper, the indoor tests were carried out to produce different rubber asphalt and test the performance indicators, then a reasonable rubber asphalt processing technology was proposed, based on the polymer modified mechanism and the analysis on the influence and the extent of different factors in the rubber asphalt production process. 1 Performance of test materials The base asphalt is asphalt SK90 # and its performance is tested in accordance with the “Standard Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixtures for Highway Engineering” (JTJ 052-2011).
