DOPO is a novel reactive flame retardant intermediate containing a bond in its structure and is highly reactive with carbonyl, olefin, Schiff base and epoxy groups, and can react with it to form many derivatives[7-9].Due to the rigid structure of biphenyl in the structure of DOPO derivative, it has less influence on the heat resistance and mechanical properties of epoxy resin than phosphate ester type flame retardant.
The rigid structure of the system increases, which reduces the toughness of the sample.
