The test specimens were produced by the Institute of Inorganic
Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava.
The lowest variation coefficients (1-10 %) were obtained for samples G1, G2, G3, i.e. for the most homogeneous structures, while for G4 and G5, having the most inhomogeneous distribution of graphite content, this value increased up to 10-30 %.

This can be explained by Effective Media Theory proposed by Bruggeman whereby the improved volume fraction of membrane matrix could improve the conduction using Eq. 1 of:
σh = σ1 [f – (1-f)/A) t Eq. 1
σh represents overall conductivity, σ1 conductivity of the effective component, A and t are constants dependent on the chemical composition and structure effective component and f is the volume fraction of the matrix.
