In engineering, the failure probability of basic events when is very small (often the case), can ignore higher order terms, by using the approximate formula: (2.6) Important degree is an important index of fault tree analysis.We need to find the probability importance degree, the structure important degree and important degree.The former said the bottom event probability impact on the top event.The degree of [9] effect and the latter said bottom events in the fault tree structure and the position of the tree.
