In this work, the membranes under studied are made from three different common materials: PTFE, PP, and N6.
Experiments Materials PTFE, PP and N6 microfiltration membranes (Beijing Haicheng Filtration Equipment Co., China) are 0.22 mm in average pore diameter, 0.1 mm in thickness, 5 cm in diameter and 6.4 cm2 in effective area of the membrane surface.

The manufacturing technologies are fully developed and raw materials are cheap.
Composite materials, bridging the gap between PMC and CMC, are manufactured by the use of polysiloxanes, carbon- and basalt fibers.
The manufacturing technologies are well established and raw materials are quite cheap.
So there is room for optimisation especially with adjusted fiber architecture and the addition of filler materials.
All values were set into comparison to traditional engineering materials.
