Fig. 2(a) shows that clear interlayer structure may not be observed in the gradient composites, demonstrating good bonding between layers; 2 areas with different components can be obviously observed in Fig. 2(b), the upper was PEEK area and the below was the crack area for 5wt.% HA/PEEK composite, the internal bonding between these two different areas showed obvious delamination under the exogenic action, while the coating layer showed no obvious falling off, thus, it provided guarantee for obtaining gradient composites with good mechanical properties.
