Launching large-scale CCS projects could involve huge numbers of scientists or engineers working on CO2 reduction in “Big Science” era.
GreenGen Project applied the sponsorship of 863 Program in Advanced Energy Tech., which was approved by MOST in 2006.
Several months later, Bush administration established the Clean Coal Power Initiative (CCPI) to enable and accelerate the deployment of advanced technologies to ensure clean, reliable, and affordable electricity for the United States Information on http://www.netl.doe.gov/technologies/coalpower/cctc/ccpi/index.html# , accessed on 03/08/2012 .
In addition to increasing R&D funding to CCS, DOE established the Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships and Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum to promote CCS development worldwide. 3.2 FutureGen adoption by the Bush administration Originally, as the flagship program on climate mitigation, FutureGen, the U.S. biggest CCS project, was announced by President George W.

The results demonstrate the feasibility of using wood waste as precursors for the sustainable manufacturing of advanced composite materials, however, optimization of manufacturing parameters and processes should be considered to improve the performance and stability of this material.
The manufacture of these cermets is usually done by sintering at temperatures above 1450ºC [6], a parameter that causes costs to rise enormously and, therefore, the use of these materials is reduced to high performance sectors and not for most common industrial and engineering products where they are also required.
It was initially thought to use natural wood [7][8][9][10][11] since its properties allowed optimizing mechanical resistance versus density, but due to the complexity and heterogeneity in the microstructure depending on the type and cutting area of the tree trunk, makes it a precursor with little possibility of having applications in ceramics and advanced materials where reproducible values are necessary to guarantee the quality of a product.
