Keywords: Toll plaza, microscopic traffic simulation, VISSIM, queue length, delay time.
In recent years, traffic engineers around the world have utilised microscopic traffic simulation models as tools to evaluate the performance of selected freeway facilities based on known traffic pattern data.
Subsequently, the engineering design layout of the toll plaza is required in order to specify the number of lanes, dimensions and payment type at each tollbooth in the software and to adjust the dimensions and configurations for the whole toll plaza.
