Keywords: Microwave absorption, nanocomposites, complex ferrite, PMMA, X-band, P-band
Abstract The influence of mixtures of Ni0.5Zn0.4Cu0.1Fe2O4, CoFe2O4, and graphite on the
permeability, permittivity and microwave absorption properties in a composite embedded with
insulating polymeric matrix, that can be used for X- and P-band radar absorption, has been
investigated.
Introduction Microwave absorption materials are important for suppressing microwaves reflected from metal structures in civil and stealth defence systems for military platforms.

Blast tests and test site
The blast tests have been carried out on a full-scale concrete pipeline, embedded in soft soil at the training campus of the Lombardy Civil Protection and Fire Brigade near Milan and subjected to the internal detonation of a single charge made of a high-energy solid explosive.
