Application of Structural Lightweight Aggregate Concrete in the Pearl River Delta Guo-Fei Zhu1,a, Hong-Zhi Cui1,b 1Shenzhen Durability Center for Civil Engineering, College of Civil Engineering, Shenzhen University, P.
Experiment research and engineering practice has proved that the mechanical properties and durability of structural LWAC can completely meet the engineering requirements.
Application of precast structural member in architectural engineering can effectively increase construction efficiency, and material quality is very easy to control.
Figure 3 (a) to 3(d) shows the installation process in actual engineering.
Fig. 2: LWAC facade (a) (b) (c) (d) Fig. 3: Facade Installation Process (a) Lifting by tower crane; (b) Accurately positioning after falling; (c) Temporary anchoring; (d) Precise positioning Conclusions Based on the above introduction and analysis, it can be known that 1) the mechanical properties and durability of structural LWAC can completely meet the engineering requirements; 2) as the research deepens, structural LWAC has been gradually accepted by construction industry in Hong Kong; 3) engineering practice and analysis prove that, although the price of LWAC is higher than that of ordinary concrete, application of LWAC in large quantity can effectively reduce foundation cost of a building and thus reducing the total pricing of building engineering.
