Y.Y.Chen et al. discovered that the general corrosion resistance of the FeCoNiCrAlSi HEA in aqueous solutions of NaCl and H2SO4 at ambient temperature is superior to that of 304S, irrespective of the concentration of electrolyte in the range 0.1–1 M.[5] Yu-Jui Hsu et al. reported that FeCoNiCrCux HEAs have much better corrosion resistant than 304L in 3.5% NaCl solution.[6] Y.L.

It suggests that a new type of sacrificial anode materials with low free corrosion potential can be obtained with low level content of Al, Zn and Mg by proper composition design.
Although the content of Al, Zn and Mg component is far below than that of the typical sacrificial anode, the AlMgZnSnPbCuMnNi HEA has low free corrosion potential.
