Once processed into fully dense
transparent material, γ-ALON displays high transmittance in the wavelength range of infrared,
microwave and visible spectroscopy, which can be potentially used as thermo-resistant window
materials, radome materials of infrared/microwave guided missiles, and armor materials with better
bulletproof performance than the existing transparent bullet resistant materials.
