Conclusions Through the application and verification of the actual engineering projects, compared with the conventional construction method, the construction technology of embankment widening of waterside cantilever high retaining wall effectively solves the anti-floating problem of the light-weight embankment, prevents the differential deformation at the joint of the wall bottom plate of the cantilever retaining wall and the reinforced concrete continuous slab, and improves the bearing capacity of the embankment.

Modern technologies that replaced manual labor require more complex skills from both the engineering personnel and the machinery operators, which increased the demand for higher education.
In the EC, technological platforms work in several main directions: urban development and buildings construction (closing the gap between the demand and offer; urban development planning); underground construction; improving the life standard; creating engineering and logistical networks (railroads, motor roads, waterways, infrastructure); materials improving and cultural objects preservation.
