Han Department of Mechanical Engineering, Pohang University of Science and Technology, San 31, Hyoja-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang, 790-784, Korea Keywords: Optical Fiber Sensor, Damage Monitoring, Fiber-Metal Laminates Abstract Optical fiber vibrations sensors(OFVS) and extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer(EFPI) were used in damage monitoring of fiber-metal laminates(FML).
Recently, based on the smart structure concept, optical fiber sensors have been increasingly applied to monitor various engineering and civil structural components.
These fiber-optic smart structures allow engineers to add nervous systems to their designs, giving structures capabilities that would be difficult to achieve by other means.

Analysis in Seismic Behaviors of the Masonry-Concrete Shear Wall Ke Li a , Guoping Chenb, Lan Tangc College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, 621010, Sichuan, China alikelikexi@yahoo.com.cn,bchenguoping@swust.edu.cn,ctanglanxwj@163.com Key words:Masonry-Concrete Shear Wall; ANSYS; Characteristic Stiffness Coefficients; Time History Analysis; Abstract:The masonry-concrete shear wall is a kind of new composite structure developed from the masonry wall, and the seismic behavior of it is better than the traditional one.
When the value of is at a level of a reasonable one, the bending shear type of deformation curves showed the good cooperation ability between masonry walls and concrete shear walls, and make good balance between seismic behavior and engineering costs.
