Three raw materials were used, characterized as clay, feldspar and quartz.
Materials and Methods The raw materials used - clay, feldspar and quartz - were characterized mineralogically and chemically, respectively, by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Philips model Xpert, with Cu Kα radiation and Ni filter (40 kV, 20 mA), and by X-ray fluorescence, Philips model PW2400.
Table 1 present the chemical composition of raw materials.
