Preface 2nd ICETAT This issue collected some engineering, tribology and materials research papers from the International Conference on Engineering Tribology and Applied Technology 2020 (ICETAT2020).

A great deal of research is focused on the identification, design, and evaluation of materials for use as photoelectrodes in PEC cells.
At minimum, candidate materials must possess an optical band gap that is narrow enough to absorb solar radiation, but wide enough to provide sufficient driving force for the oxygen and hydrogen evolving reactions (OER and HER, respectively) [2].

Geopolymer binder has been identified to create good adhesion between these two materials.
The aim of the study is to characterize the shear and pullout resistance of an assembly of three materials (wood/geopolymer binder/earth) to validate the performance of the binder as joint materials.
The goal of this work was to describe and better understanding ofthe mechanical behavior of each materials separately and of the composite masonry material.

Selecting different couple materials to carry on thermal balance clearance analysis, including metals used in water media.
Under different materials matching, the thermal balance curves were shown in Fig.3.
Therefore, we must pay attention to the thermal expansion and thermal conductivity when choose materials for friction pair.

Many researchers have worked very hard to develop thick laminated composite materials that are safe and more cost-effective by carefully considering factors like the number of layers, the angle of the fibers, the distribution of the laminates, etc.
Computer software (ANSYS) for finite element analysis FEA was used to analyze the composite materials created for the current investigation.
This is because the hardness values of composite materials containing nanomaterials are higher than those of composite materials without nanomaterials.
