Different materials have different characteristics and so can bring different effects on penetration course of the projectile.
For this phenomenon, it could be explained that rock materials had anisotropic and brittle characteristics which caused forming and developing of the cracks in the rock were random when the rock materials underwent impact loads, which could be furthermore proved from damage morphology of the rock layer in Fig. 4.

Next, the JMatPro software was employed to calculate material properties of 15B22 boron steel at various elevated temperatures, including material mechanical properties and thermal properties.
The 15B22 boron steel and SKD61 tool steel were selected as the materials for sheet specimen and dies, respectively.
