Thus, R&D activities are defined as follows: Research is the original planned investigation that seeks to discover new knowledge and a superior understanding in the scientific and technological field, and development in the application of the results of the investigation or of any other type of scientific knowledge in the manufacture of new materials or products or in the design of new processes or production systems, as well as for the substantial technological improvement of pre-existing materials, products, processes or systems.
As can be seen in Table 1, very diverse journals have been selected by the students, although two of them stand out, Procedia Engineering and Journal of Materials Processing Technology, both with 14 papers selected.
