Surface charge properties of aggregate materials
There are two main kinds of aggregate materials used in highway engineering, which one is alkaline and another is acid.
Furthermore, acidity and basicity of aggregate materials are interrelated with the properties of surface charge, that is, if acidic aggregate materials react with water to form hydrogen ions, so the surface of materials has negative charge and solvent medium shows alkaline property.
Otherwise, alkali aggregate materials react with water to form hydroxide ions yielding positive charge on surface of aggregate materials and causing solvent medium shows alkaline property.
According to the summary of above analysis, alkaline materials is hydrophobic materials that easily react with bitumen, while acidic materials are hydrophilic which react with bitumen difficultly.
It can be seen that, from the Table 2, the heat of reaction between anionic aqueous emulsifying agent and the materials was nearly same as the heat of which water reacted on the materials.

Introduction
In a production process the various internal factors (such as people, machines, materials, method and the environment), often lead to the product feature values fluctuation , thus make its consistency size become poor.
