Compared with the traditional investment castings, this process provides a higher precision and convenience for materials.
As shown in the Fig. 6, the assist elements are attached to the interface of two materials, they transform along with the expansion of the ceramic shell, and we can utilize them to control the rigid displacement of the ceramic shell, thus the crack problem of the structure could be solved by maintaining the mechanical stiffness of the assist elements.

It makes it possible for designers to join dissimilar materials and consolidate different parts [2] and provides stiffer assemblies and better load distribution.
To understand the asymmetric effect in mechanical properties of the substrates, steel and aluminium alloy are taken as the substrate materials in each joint separately.
The asymmetry in the substrate materials in SLJ is believed to be the cause of the variation.
As dissimilar materials are adopted in each SLJ, the different coefficients of thermal expansion between steel and aluminium alloy lead to non-ignorable internal stress when environment temperature changes, which is straightly applied to the adhesively bonded joint.
